ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Order by the Vehicle Weight Committee
Order No. 2020-01 Defining Maximum Allowable Weights Permitted on Certain Municipal Roads. Pursuant to the authority granted under the provisions of By-Law No. 958-86 the Vehicle Weight Committee orders that effective Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. percentage axle weights for highways are:

Road Use Agreement
A TAC Permit is required for tridem axles or loads exceeding a GVW of 53,500 kg. This permit allows tridem axles and/or vehicle configurations with a GVW greater than 53,500 kg to operate on local roads at the same legal maximum weights as on Provincial Highways, as per Alberta Regulation 315/2002. Effective January 1, 2021 a tridem drive is restricted to 23,000 kg and a tridem trailer to 24,000 kg on any municipal roadway unless a TAC Permit is acquired.
